Swastikas: are they Antisemitic?

 Yes.

And no.

Depending on who you talk to.

The Swastika is an ancient symbol of peace used in almost every religious and spiritual practice worldwide. Each arm, usually, representing the four limbs or elements and the centre representing either the body/head/spirit.

Apart from that, I actually don't know too much about the symbol, and what it represents apart from the obvious. (The Big Bad Nazi in Wolf's Clothing.)

I don't know a single Westerner (or Jew) who doesn't know what the Swastika represents or was used for. And I also know a whole bunch of people who get very triggered when they see it.

(Which is understandable.)

However, Swastikas from different cultures and religions are still used today as peace symbols; especially the further East we go and the reasoning for this is because History is taught differently in the East. They genuinely just don't associate the Swastika with Nazis, because that's not what they were taught. WWI & WWII History Lessons are different in Japan than they are to... oh, let's say the UK or US.

This, to me, is a fundamental rule.

However!

When I see White Western people who have been exposed to a decent amount of the Education System and should be aware of what a Swastika/Hakenkreuz is, looks like and means fucking tattooed on their body and then doing the petty excuse of "oh, no, its the Buddhist symbol". I'm like... what? What the actual HELL are you talking about? You know what it is. I don't care whether its on the slant or straight on or if the legs are going anticlockwise. You have actively chosen to have this symbol tattooed on you forever knowing what it could represent and how it could look on you.

That is a conscious choice.

If you're a White Westerner (or just any Westerner with a good education, or has turned on the TV in the last 60 years or so) and you spray paint this symbol on any building or decorate your body/home/car with the symbol, you are actively contributing to Antisemitism, Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Ableism and the Nazi Cause. It's what He would of wanted.

Stupid humans. Stupid apes.

No more excuses for "but it's the one with the dots", you know what you have on your shoulder.

You're not being edgy or spiritual. Choose another symbol.

Huff. I'm in a bad mood today.
